Best practices
- Always use the international format with the country code. It costs nothing and it works for visitors and roaming phones.
- Write the number in readable text next to the code. Some people will simply not scan, and printed codes fail when they are dirty or damaged.
- For a vehicle or a window, print large. A code meant to be scanned from two metres needs roughly 20 cm per side.
- Make sure the line is answered during the hours the code is visible, or add the opening times beside it.
Limitations
- Anyone can decode the image and read the number, so avoid using a private line on public material.
- Extensions after the main number are handled inconsistently: many phones stop dialling at the pause character.
- The number is fixed in the code. Changing it means reprinting everything that carries it.

The number is turned into a tel link and a QR code inside your browser. It is never sent to our servers, never stored and never shared.
